Overview

The trace (ppm-level) H2S gas analyzer is designed for continuous, quantitative monitoring of trace hydrogen sulfide. It is widely used in natural gas processing and pipelines, petrochemical refining, coal-to-chemical processes, biogas desulfurization, and environmental monitoring. Delivering precise measurements of H2S in natural gas, syngas, fuel gas, and biomethane, it prevents pipeline corrosion, protects downstream catalysts from sulfur poisoning, evaluates desulfurization efficiency, and ensures product quality and safety compliance.


Principle

UV-LED radiation is divided into measurement and reference paths by a beam splitter. The reference beam directly reaches the detector, which converts it into a reference voltage value. Using this reference signal, the aging effect of UV-LED can be almost completely compensated. The measuring beam enters the sample cell, and the gas in the sample cell is absorbed by the radiation in it. The absorption behavior is recorded by the measuring detector and used to calculate the gas concentration in the measuring cuvette.

  • Custody Transfer Verification: Continuous H_2 S monitoring in tariff-quality natural gas to meet strict pipeline specifications and trade standards.

  • Pipeline Corrosion Prevention: Early detection of trace H_2 S to mitigate acid corrosion risks in high-pressure transport pipelines and storage facilities.

• Petrochemical & Refining Processes

  • Catalyst Protection: Monitoring feed gas (such as reformer feed and isomerate) in refinery units to prevent precious metal catalysts from irreversible sulfur poisoning.

  • Refinery Fuel Gas: Monitoring hydrogen sulfide levels in fuel gas streams before combustion to comply with environmental sulfur dioxide (SO_2) emission regulations.

• Syngas & Coal Chemical Industry

  • Synthesis Gas Quality Control: Measuring trace H_2 S in syngas used for ammonia, methanol, or hydrogen production, safeguarding high-sensitivity downstream catalysts.

  • Acid Gas Removal (AGR): Verifying the efficiency of desulfurization units (such as Rectisol or Selexol processes) by monitoring the treated gas outlets.

• Biogas & Renewable Energy

  • Biomethane Grid Injection: Continuous analysis of upgraded biogas (biomethane) to ensure it meets gas grid and vehicle fuel purity standards.

  • Desulfurization Efficiency: Monitoring the outlet of dry or wet desulfurization systems to protect Combined Heat and Power (CHP) engines from sulfur-induced wear.
