Overview
The percentage-level (%) Deuterium (D2) thermal conductivity analyzer utilizes highly stable Thermal Conductivity Detection (TCD) technology. It is widely used in nuclear energy and heavy water reactor process control, semiconductor deuterium annealing safety, isotopic gas blending, and laboratory research. Delivering precise, online measurements of D2 in binary or quasi-binary mixtures (such as D2/N2 or D2/Ar), it monitors gas purity and mixing ratios, serving as essential instrumentation for isotope processing, process control, and advanced microelectronics fabrication.
Principle
When the sample gas enters the thermal conductivity cell, and a thermistor is used above the film to maintain a constant temperature. In this way, a small cavity is formed below and above the membrane, and the measurement gas can diffuse into it. In this way, the heat loss caused by the thermal conductivity of the sample gas is compensated by heating, and the power required to maintain a constant temperature of the membrane is a measurement of the thermal conductivity of the measured gas.
Application
• Semiconductor & Optoelectronics Manufacturing
Deuterium Annealing Process Control: Continuous monitoring of the percentage-level D2 concentration in high-pressure deuterium annealing furnaces (typically blended with N2 or Ar) to passivate dangling bonds on silicon wafers, significantly improving transistor reliability and device lifetime.
D2 Recycling & Recovery Systems: Real-time purity measurement in exhaust gas recycling loops of wafer fabrication facilities to safely and economically reclaim high-value deuterium gas.
• Nuclear Energy, Fusion R&D & Heavy Water Facilities
Fusion Fuel Cycle Diagnostics: Monitoring the concentration of deuterium (D2) and its isotopic mixtures in tritium-deuterium fuel loops, experimental fusion reactors (like tokamaks), and plasma diagnostic systems.
Heavy Water Reactor Monitoring: Tracking isotopic hydrogen/deuterium ratios in off-gases of heavy water production and clean-up processes.
• Isotopic Gas Blending & Quality Control
Shielding & Specialty Gas Blending: High-precision online verification of binary mixtures (such as D2/N2, D2/Ar, or D2/He) used in industrial laboratories and fiber-optic cable manufacturing.
Cylinder Filling Verification: Final quality assurance during the blending, pressurizing, and packaging of specialty deuterium gas cylinders.
• Pharmaceutical Synthesis & Deuterated Drug Production
