1. Use of sulfur hexafluoride

Sulfur hexafluoride has good electrical insulation properties and excellent arc extinguishing performance. Its electrical strength is 2.5 times that of nitrogen under the same pressure, breakdown voltage is 2.5 times that of air, and arc extinguishing ability is 100 times that of air, which is a new generation of ultra-high voltage insulation medium material superior to that between air and oil. Sulfur hexafluoride with its good insulation performance and arc extinguishing performance, such as: circuit breakers, high-voltage transformers, gas-enclosed combination capacitors, high-voltage transmission lines, mutual inductors, etc. Electronic grade high purity sulfur hexafluoride is an ideal electronic etching agent and is used in a large number of applications in the field of microelectronics technology. Refrigeration industry as a refrigerant, the refrigeration range can be between -45 ℃ ~ 0 ℃. The electrical industry uses its very high dielectric strength and good arc extinguishing properties as insulation material for high voltage switches, high capacity transformers, high voltage cables and gases.

Mining industry as a counter-adsorbent, used in the mine coal dust in the replacement of oxygen. 2. Preparation of sulfur hexafluoride

It is obtained by direct chemistry of monomeric fluorine with sulfur. The reaction also produces other fluorides of sulfur such as disulfur decafluoride, which can be purified by heating to disproportionate it and then treating with sodium hydroxide to remove the remaining sulfur tetrafluoride.


3. Impact of trace moisture on sulfur hexafluoride related equipment

3.1 When the trace moisture is seriously exceeded, it may cause the switch insulating parts to be damp or produce condensation, thus greatly reducing its insulation performance.

3.2 As sulfur hexafluoride is decomposed by the arc to produce HF, SO2, SOF2 and other toxic gases, it will have a corrosive effect on the metal parts and insulating parts, and the presence of moisture will aggravate the corrosive effect.


4. Sulfur hexafluoride related products to eliminate trace moisture

4.1 Trace moisture monitoring of sulfur hexafluoride gas prior to factory filling.

4.2 The moisture of the gas is measured before the product is filled with sulfur hexafluoride gas.

4.3 Optimize the design of the product shell and choose materials with good denseness and poor heat conduction as the shell.

4.4 Strict process requirements, parts must be cleaned and then dried in the oven and removed after cooling in the oven, not to be taken out at high temperature to avoid moisture absorption, and assembly at high humidity should be avoided.

4.5 The switch should be closed and vacuumed as soon as possible after the product is loaded with adsorbent.
